Getting Started — Security Manager

After connect, start on the Dashboard for risk highlights, then open Logins / Users for day-to-day unlocks and role membership — use Compliance and Drift for recurring audits.

Getting Started

  1. Connect to SQL Server — Launch the tool and enter your server name. Supports Windows Authentication, SQL Server Authentication, and Azure Entra ID (Password and MFA).
  2. View the Dashboard — The dashboard loads automatically showing total logins, active/disabled/locked counts, sysadmin members, high-risk accounts, and recent failed login attempts.
  3. Select a Database — Use the database dropdown in the header to switch context for database-level views (Users, Roles, Permissions).
  4. Explore Tabs — Navigate between Dashboard, Logins, Users, Roles, Permissions, Password Policy, Audit, and Compliance tabs.
